{this moment}

{this moment} A Friday tradition. A single photo – without words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, yet infinitely significant moment. A moment I want to pause, cherish and remember. If you wish to do the same, please leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to see and enjoy. Inspired by SouleMama.

Wishing you a weekend of rest and fun.
See you on Tuesday!

on my table

On my table there are…
♥  letters
that made my little boy (and his mama) proud
♥  apples that will be made into good things all winter
  compost contributions that will make for a good garden next year
  capable hands of Miss almost-Eight that made Mama’s day easier

What’s on YOUR table?

field trip

We homeschool our children which means we are able to make the world our classroom. A benefit of homeschooling is that we take “field trips” whenever we feel like it–and Daddy gets to come too! Our recent trip to the Grand Canyon was a wonderful experience for our two oldest children (and us!). We were awed by the natural beauty and immense size of it all. On the lookout for wildlife, we saw: deer, squirrels, hawks, vultures, and tourists. :)

What’s your favorite family trip?

around town | the pioneer museum

This past week, we took the kids on an “uh-venture” to our local pioneer museum. They loved it! We learned about the native tribes who first inhabited our area, as well as the early settlers who built a life here with their strong hands and endless resourcefulness.

The favorite attractions were the old train outside the museum and the children’s room within:

So much fun! We’ll visit again for the living history days and festivals in the summertime.
